Youth Ministry

Our youth ministry program encompasses students in grades 9 through 12, and we always welcome their friends. Youth ministry is about exploring faith in new and exciting ways; responding to the needs and the gifts of the youth; and seeing parents, as well as community members, as partners in the investment of our time and resources.
Our programs are divided to meet the needs of both Confirmation and high school. We offer retreats, fun games, field trips, summer mission trips, community outreach activity and social gatherings and much more.

We invite all high school teens to explore their faith by experiencing the Catholic community and sharing life experiences in relation to the Gospel. We meet every third Sunday evening from 5-7 PM from September to May and occasionally in the summer for special events.

Hospitality Committee

The Hospitality Committee has no regularly scheduled meetings, but is an on-call group of men and women who like to plan and give parties for special events that call for large celebrations, priests’ luncheons, receptions or gatherings. Sometimes it is a visit from the Bishop or other dignitary, an anniversary or jubilee, or a reception following Easter baptisms, a special Mass. That is when the Hospitality Committee comes into action. Members decide upon the appropriate location, decorations and ambience for the event. They handle details for food preparation or catering service, etc. On the appointed day(s) they set up tables and chairs, decorate, prepare and/or serve food, and help with “clean up” after the event.

Media Ministry

The social media is the fastest tool of communication in human history. It has changed the way people interact so much: tweeting, blogging, texting, live chatting, posting on Facebook and other social networks, sharing their views and opinions with the world. Social media evangelism is the new frontline of evangelism, based on Christ’s method to mingle with people where they are, sympathize with them, meet their needs, and invite them to follow Jesus. We share relevant material that meets the needs of people and invite them to visit and explore holistic life together through videos  and articles. It also provides ways for you to keep abreast of events and updates at St. Joseph Catholic Church to its members and the community.
